Abbie’s School is a private alternative educational institution that offers an inclusive learning environment with a personalized, multi-age experiential approach taught primarily in English. With 25 years of excellence, the school fosters leadership, creativity, and critical thinking through a curriculum aligned with Common Core Standards and the Puerto Rico Department of Education.

We are looking for a strategic leader who, in collaboration with the Board of Directors, will drive the vision and growth of this unique educational community. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English and Spanish), possess a strong educational leadership background, and can navigate the complexities of leading an alternative private school in a remote island setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the development and implementation of educational programs that comply with local and international standards, including licensing, accreditation, and health and safety regulations.

• Ensure the continuity and enhancement of the school’s experiential learning approach.

• Oversee financial planning, manage resources, and support fundraising efforts in collaboration with the board to ensure institutional sustainability and growth.

• Establish and manage a 5-year strategic plan in collaboration with the board.

• Strengthen communication with students, families, and strategic partners, fostering a collaborative and innovative school community.

• Lead the hiring, training, and development of faculty and administrative staff in alignment with the school’s mission.

• Ensure efficient school operations by managing classroom materials, technological resources, and operational equipment.

• Teach at least one class, actively connect with students daily, and model best practices in dynamic, engaging learning environments.
